The First International Conference Atlantic Communities: Translation, Mobility, Hospitality will be held in the vibrant city of Vigo, known as the Atlantic Gateway, the largest city of Galicia and one of Europe’s busiest Atlantic harbours.  Vigo sits on the shores of one of the most beautiful stretches of  the Atlantic coast, with  unspoilt beaches and clean waters. Traditionally an important site of migration and socioeconomic exchange, and today a modern space of cosmopolitan interaction, Vigo is famous for its fishing industry, delicious food, and its Museum of Contemporary Art.

The conference venue,  the Fundación Barrié at number 31, Policarpo Sanz Street  is a designer-renovated 1919 building which has received prestigious national and international architecture awards and is located in Vigo’s modernist street par excellence, well known for its turn-of-the-century architectonic heritage.

This location provides a unique opportunity to enjoy the nearby seafront, visit the architectural gems, walk through the elegant avenues and explore the outstanding gastronomic variety of its restaurants and its charming cafés.
